Peel Plastics’ 6,500 Sq. Ft. High Storage Mezzanine
Peel Plastics is a leading Canadian manufacturer of flexible packaging solutions. For over 20 years, ProPart Modular has worked with them on several different products and projects including expanding warehouse office space and portable office trailers.
As Peel Plastics continues to grow, so do its plant and production space needs. This growth includes the addition of a large new press which required additional space to house it and they once again turned to ProPart Modular. ProPart Modular’s mezzanine storage platform was the perfect solution. Instead of moving or expanding facilities, it would turn unused air space into valuable floor space.
Due to the very large size of the press, ProPart Modular had to strategically plan the design and column placement of the mezzanine while considering both the press’s footprint and the flow of production. The result was a 48’ x 132’ x 18’ high storage mezzanine that added nearly 6,500 sq. ft. of plant space. Despite the large space, the project was installed without disrupting Peel Plastics’ production and is a testament to the benefits of modular solutions.
Speaking on the project and this long-running relationship, Peel Plastics’ Project Manager Fausto Rodriguez offered:
“Peel Plastics and Provincial Partitions began our partnership over 20 years ago when we were in the need of extra office space on the plant floor. Provincial Partitions offered an economic solution with their portable office trailers, which suited our needs perfectly. Our business is ever-expanding, for which our manufacturing floor must also change. The portable office trailers gave us that advantage. Since our first portable office, in 20 years we have purchased an additional four, that are still in use.
When we ran out of manufacturing floor space, Provincial Partitions mezzanines offered relief by going up and increasing the manufacturing floor space.
When we decided to create a more permanent office space on our manufacturing floor, their System 40 has been an amazing solution for us. As our team grew, the office space created with System 40 was redistributed to suit effortlessly.
The Provincial Partition team is cohesive and responsive. Problems are resolved quickly and without too much fuss, even when our main contact was away on holiday, they managed to deliver on our needs.
We have always been happy that Provincial Partitions always offered an engineered solution that we could take to the City when building permits are required. This is something we found that other suppliers have struggled with.
