ProPart Modular (Provincial Partitions) is a fast-paced, modular construction company based out of Burlington, Ontario. Since 1981, the firm has specialized in the design, manufacture and installation of custom office partitions, interiors, industrial plant solutions, controlled environments and prefab buildings, with a primarily B2B client base and more than 70% retention rate. President, Ryan, talks us through ProPart Modular’s objective and how it goes about achieving this. 

“In business, the only constant is change,” says Ryan. “We want to allow our customers the advantage of flexibility to modify their work environments as their business develops or changes. In saying that, we offer catered modular solutions to help solve customers’ problems today and give them the ability to adapt for future success. With an emphasis on flexibility and a product that produces that, we can truly live out our vision by understanding our customers and providing a solution that gives them total flexibility.” 

Having more than 40 years of modular construction industry experience is what Ryan and the team believe set the firm apart from its competitors as ProPart has both the knowledge and the client-focused project managers needed to ensure projects are completed in a timely and effective manner, and clients are satisfied. 

The internal culture of ProPart Modular is another key aspect of the firm’s success as it focuses, and has always focused, on a corporate vision-positive work environment. This is achieved by emphasizing each employee’s strengths to make the company more productive and efficient. “Our location also plays a part in our success,” he embellishes. “We are based in Canada, (although we operate internationally) and the benefit of our location is that our office and warehouse space are all in the same place. This enables us to work effectively as a team and enjoy a great working environment. A company with a positive culture will attract the type of talent that is willing to make their next workplace a home, rather than just a stepping-stone. 

“The fact that everything we produce is also manufactured here in Canada is another great asset as this is something that other Canadians definitely appreciate when looking to go modular.” 

Within the modular construction space, there are trends that Ryan has seen emerging, which are additionally beneficial for ProPart and all add to its continued success story. Currently, there is, and will continue to be, a high demand for modular construction due to the efficacy and fast completion rate of projects. There is also a labour shortage affecting the construction industry as a whole and modular construction provides a solution for that. Also, the need to build net-zero energy buildings also continues to be a trend that ProPart caters to, as modular construction is inherently more eco-friendly than conventional methods of construction. 

“As we turn the page on 2019 and look to 2020 and beyond, our company is focused on entering a growth phase,” explains Ryan. “Over the past six months, we have committed a large emphasis within our management team towards an organizational structure that will allow us the ability to scale.” 

Regarding the future, Ryan tells us that the company is already looking well ahead and preparing itself for further growth. “In exceeding our sales targets by 80% in the last quarter of 2019, we have positioned ourselves to expand our operational team to sustain the commitment of speed that has allowed us to maintain a customer base consisting of over 70% repeat clients. In expanding to new, innovative markets, we strive to create new relationships that turn into future repeat customers. As cliché as it sounds, our concentration is on our customers and their changing needs. 

“The start of 2020 has multiple large new projects kicking off. From providing an over 8,000 square foot cleanroom and storage platform to helping create a new Aerospace processing line, we have an exciting year ahead.”
