IDT Systems needed an Electrical Control House, which would be retrofitted later at their premises with air pollution control equipment. The specs were fairly demanding because the components used in an air pollution control environment generate a significant amount of heat. Working closely with the engineering team at Provincial Partitions, Brian Brohman, President of IDT Systems, opted for an A/C solution that would put out 12 tons of cooling.
This custom steel structure was engineered to withstand the extremes of any environment. First, it was determined the frame would be steel. To accommodate the heavy equipment to be installed at IDT Systems, raised checker-plate flooring rated at 150 pounds per square foot was used throughout. An epoxy coat was used on the interior walls and full-size double equipment doors enable easy access when installing the oversized equipment. Additionally, lifting lugs were incorporated into the design of the frame to enable easy lifting and placement of this very heavy unit.
